The final round of the Fifth session of the National Guard contest for the memorization of the Holy Quran for the military men began here today under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. The King has allocated SR 650,000 as prizes for the competitors of the contest. Dr Ibrahim Abu Abah, the head of the administration of guidance at the National Guard, said the approval of the King for the organization of the contest comes within the framework of his great attention to the military men of the National Guard. He reiterated the keenness of the Monarch on enabling the military men of the National Guard to memorize and intonate the Holy Quran. Dr Abu Abah said the contest aims at encouraging the personnel of the National Guard to memorize the Holy Quran and adhere to its teachings. On his part, Prince Dr Bandar bin Salman bin Mohammed al-Saud, the advisor of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, said the organization of the contest embodies the great attention given by the rulers to the Holy Quran and to holding high the banner of Islam.
