Saudi Aramco won the award for best company in exploration and production at the recent Excellence in Energy Awards. The awards, under the patronage of Department of Civil Aviation President and Emirates Group chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, honored outstanding leaders in the energy sector. Now in its seventh year, the awards ceremony held recently drew more than 600 of the Gulf region's most senior energy representatives, VIPs and dignitaries, according to the business Web site "AME Info". The Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) and Dolphin Energy received awards for business excellence. ADNOC took the Overall Excellence Award for its achievements and business practices. The Regional Energy Award was presented to Weatherford, and Masdar received the environmental award. “With the world's attention continually focused on the energy sector in this region, it is essential the industry has an annual platform to recognize and reward companies for their significant contributions and achievements,” said Eileen Michael, director of Reflex Publishing, founder of the awards and publisher of Pipeline magazine.
