Taiwan computer giant Acer Inc's 2007 profits rose 26 per cent to hit 13 billion Taiwan dollars (395 million US dollars), the company said Thursday, according to dpa. According to Acer's financial report, Acer's 2007 profits after tax were 130 billion Taiwan dollars, up 26 per cent from 2006. Acer's 2007 revenues totalled 462 billion Taiwan dollars, up 25 per cent from 2006. In 2007, Acer's operating income reached 10.2 billion Taiwan dollars, up 30 per cent year-on-year and representing 79 per cent of profits after tax at 12.9 billion Taiwan dollars. Meanwhile, earnings per share were 5.48 Taiwan dollars. Founded in 1976, Acer ranks as the world's number three vendor for total computers and number two vendor for notebook computers. It employs 5,300 people worldwide.
