The Bahraini Ministry of Industry and Trade has organized in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Federation of the GCC Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Bahraini Chamber of Commerce a Forum on the phenomenon of hike in prices of commodities in the GCC member states. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Essam Fakhro, the Federation's Chairman reiterated the importance of cooperation of the private and public sectors for confronting this phenomenon which has serious economic and social repercussions. In an address, read on his behalf by GCC Assistant Secretary General for economic affairs Mohammed al-Mazroo, GCC secretary general Abdurrahman al-Atiyyah stressed the importance of cooperation of the GCC member states for fighting inflation as well as accelerating the establishment of the Gulf Common Market. --MORE
