An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale hit central Japan Monday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said. No deaths or injuries have been reported in the quake that shook areas north of Tokyo. Seismic waves traveled to Japan's capital and swayed high-rises at around 12:40 pm (0340 GMT), but no tsunami warning was issued, DPA reported.
