A moderate earthquake rattled a remote region in northwestern Iran, with no immediate reports of injuries, reported state radio Sunday, according to AP. The quake with a magnitude of 5 on the Richter scale struck the Hasahtjin district, some 320 kilometers (200 miles) northwest of the capital around mid-afternoon, added the report. The U.S. Geological Survey confirmed an earthquake took place in that region at 3:41 p.m local time.
