A strong earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale rattled western Greece on Tuesday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, DPA reported. The Athens Geodynamic Institute said the quake, with an epicenter 250 kilometers west of the Greek capital Athens near the island of Zakynthos, took place shortly after a moderate earthquake, measuring 4.9, rattled northwestern Greece. The second quake in the Ionion Sea was followed by a series of smaller moderate earthquakes, measuring 5.2 just 11 minutes after. Another earthquake was recorded to have taken place near the Aegean island of Hios with a magnitude of 4.5. Hios was the site of another 6 Richter earthquake which struck the Aegean on Monday.
