Riyadh Book Fair ended here last night its activities. The ten-day book fair, organized by the ministry of culture and information, displayed more than 200,000 titles in the various cultural and scientific domains. 550 publishing houses from 22 countries participated in the book show. Speaking at the book fair's inaugural ceremony minister of culture and information Iyad Ameen Madani highlighted the significance of patronization of the book fair by the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and said that would spark enthusiasm and open the doors wide for new horizons. Madani described the book fair as an important cultural event which would enable the citizens to get acquainted with the world of books. Meanwhile, Madani lauded the idea of hosting Japan by the book fair and said the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia has been maintaining strategic relations with Japan at the various domains. On his part, director general of public diplomacy department at the Japanese foreign ministry Tadamichi Yamamoto said the participation of his country in the book fair has reflected the existing deep-rooted relations between the Kingdom and Japan.
