The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has ordered an increase of SR 700 - SR 1200 per ton in the barley subsidy for livestock herders who suffer from drought and deficiency of rainfall this year which in turn affected their living and led them to resort to inappropriate alternatives to feed their livestock and also negatively affected the prices of different kinds of meat. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Minister of Agriculture Dr. Fahd bin Abdulrahman Balghunaim added that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques directed Ministerial Committee for Supply as well as other government agencies to control markets and distributors and to expedite securing other alternatives for barley.
