Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva and his wife are to arrive in Amman on Saturday at the outset of a three-day state visit to Jordan at the invitation of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania, the Jordanian royal court announced Thursday. The Portuguese and Jordanian leaders will have talks during the visit on the latest developments in the Middle East, including peace efforts as well as issues of boosting bilateral ties, an official statement said. President Silva will also take part in a meeting of Jordanian and Portuguese businessmen, and visit Jordan's historical sites, the statement added.
