Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen was due to visit the United States end of February for talks with US President George W Bush, the premier's office said Friday, according to dpa. Rasmussen, accompanied by his wife Anne-Mette, was slated to join a select group of foreign leaders to visit the Bush's Texas ranch February 29 to March 1. The leaders were slated to discuss a range of topics including a pending NATO summit and developments in Afghanistan, Iraq, the Middle East, Kosovo and energy and climate, the statement said. Rasmussen has been a close ally to the US president and Denmark has contributed troops to Iraq and Afghanistan. Last year, the 500- strong Danish forces were pulled out of southern Iraq. During his US visit, the Danish premier was also scheduled to deliver a speech on transatlantic ties in Washington.
