Jabiri, the Chairman of the board of directors of the project, said the project is considered as the biggest strategic stock for livestock with an investment of about SR 300 million. He noted that the project imports 600,000 heads of live sheep from Australia and the number may increase to one million in the next few years. It is worth mentioning that the volume of trade exchange between the Kingdom and Australia amounted to about SR 9.2 billion in 2006. The trade balance for the time being tilts in favor of Australia due to a hike of the Saudi imports from it. In the same year, the Saudi exports to Australia amounted to about SR 1.26 billion while the imports amounted to SR 7.7 billion.
