The delegation of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) led by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi who is also the chairman of the University's Board of Trustees paid a visit today to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) to sign a memorandum of understanding to set up a long-term cooperation between the two universities. The accompanying delegation consists of KAUST President Designate, Professor Choon Fong Shih and Interim President of KAUST, Nadhmi Al-Nasr. This visit comes within the framework of KAUST seeking to establish cooperative links with the international universities such as HKUST. This memorandum of understanding provides for the activities which will open new horizons in the fields of research of marine genetic factors and Nanotechnology. According to the agreement, the scientists will do marine researches at the coast of the Red Sea. The Partnership aims to exchange Universities personnel from time to time.
