The United States condemned the bombing of a police convoy in Beirut on Friday that left six people dead, including a high-ranking Lebanese security official believed to be the target of the attack, reported the DPA. "This bombing is an attack (by) those who seek to undermine Lebanon's institutions and democratic processes and to delay further the selection of a new Lebanese president," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said. The blast took place Friday morning in Lebanon along a roadway leading out of Beirut, killing Captain Wissam Eid and one of his bodyguards.
