Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is expected to meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday, Associated Press quoted a senior Abbas aide as saying. The aide, who spoke Friday on condition of anonymity ahead of a formal announcement of the meeting, said they were expected to discuss events in Gaza where Israel has imposed a blockade on the shipment of goods from its territory and Palestinian militants have torn down the border fence with Egypt. Olmert's office said efforts were being made to arrange a meeting but were not yet finalized.
