The Brazilian authorities confirmed on Wednesday one more death from yellow fever in the central state of Goias, bringing to nine the total of mortal cases of the tropical disease, Xinhua reported. The victim was a guard of the Federal University of Goias. He has been working in the campus No. 2 close to a forest in the north of the city of Goiania and did not take vaccination against yellow fever, according to the Health Department of Goias. The man, whose name was not revealed, died on Dec. 30 of last year. Medical results of the Institute of Evandro Chagas showed on Wednesday that the reason of his death was of yellow fever. From last December to now, Brazil has already registered nine deaths from yellow fever, including seven in Goias, two in Brasilia and one in Parana.
