Some residents of Banda Aceh and Aceh regency were frightened by a quake measured at 4.4 on the Richter scale on Sunda at 9.48 p.m. West Indonesia Time, ANTARA reported. Deni, analyst at the geophysics station at Mata Ie, Aceh Besar, said the epicenter of the shock was located in a depth of 10 kilometers some 37 kilometers southeast of Banda Aceh. "This is a ground quake with its epicenter located 10 km deep. The quake is centered in Kuta Baro sub district, Aceh Besar," he said. The shocks lasted 265 seconds, he added. No reports on damage or fatalities had been received, he added.
