As many as 190, 000 Saudi Citizens were employed in the Private Sector during the last three years following their qualification and training through a joint National Qualification and Training Program in cooperation with the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) and Chambers of Commerce and Industry as well as other related quarters for the available vacancies in the Private sector, according to a latest report prepared by the Labor Ministry. "As many as 129 Saudi establishments were suspended from recruiting manpower from abroad because they did not commit to employing Saudis. In addition, the Ministry suspended 107 other establishments which have more than 100 workers and the percentage of their Saudization has not exceeded one per cent," the report said. "If these establishments achieve the specified Saudization percentage or complete two years after the issuance of this suspension, then, these establishments will have a right to recruit manpower from abroad," it added. "The penalties imposed on these Establishments and Companies show the keenness of the Labor Ministry to implement the decision of the Council of Ministers in this regard and stresses the need for creating suitable job opportunities for Saudi Nationals because this is a common responsibility of the state and the private Sector," the report said.
