Brazilian airplane builder Embraer broke a record in 2007, delivering 30 per cent more aircraft in 2007 than the previous year, the firm said Wednesday according to DPA. Embraer delivered 169 airplanes last year and received orders worth 18.8 billion dollars. The company said in a statement that 130 of the machines delivered last year were for commercial purposes. Embraer, headquartered in Sao Jose dos Campos, in the state of Sao Paulo, has a workforce of close to 24,000 people. It is now working to fulfil 476 firm orders. In 2008, the Brazilian company hopes to deliver 195-200 airplanes.
