U.S. President George W. Bush said Tuesday he would try to lay out a vision for a Palestinian state during his upcoming trip to the Middle East. Bush will head to the Middle East on Wednesday. His trip begins in Israel. From there, he will visit the West Bank, a number of Gulf States, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. At a brief press conference Tuesday, Bush said it would be important “to lay out a vision in order for there to be a Palestinian state once road map obligations are met.” Bush is hoping to build on a one-day meeting he organized in Annapolis, Maryland last year, where Israeli and Palestinian leaders agree to restart peace talks. On Tuesday, Bush said the outlines of a Palestinian state should be “clearly defined.”
