Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance Sheikh Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al Alsheikh, who is also the Supervisor General of the Guests of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Programme, asserted the need for coordination between media and Islamic work. This came in a press statement following his inspection tour yesterday of the residence of the guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Mina. During his tour, the minister was briefed on the services provided to the guests. The minister said that the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance will launch in the first half of next year a campaign for immunizing young people against extremism and terrorism. He also said that the process of selecting the guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques was not subject to political or propagational considerations, confirming that it depends on a purely geographical criterion so that the selection will be from one continent in a year and another continent in the next year. This process aims at allowing the largest possible number of Muslims who have never preformed Hajj to perform it. The Minister said that the guests Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques were selected this year from 25 Asian countries, focusing on Eastern Asia, including Japan, Philippines, Indonesia and China. "The total number of pilgrims hosted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz pilgrims at his own expense this year and earlier years reached more than 1,000", he added.
