Pakistan's Caretaker Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro said Thursday that his country always accords high priority to its close relations with China and was keen to expand it in all sectors of life, underscoring the importance of enhancing these relations and adding that the bilateral relations between the two countries contribute to bringing about peace and security in the region. This came during a meeting between Soomro and Senior Vice Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi at Soomro's office in Islam Abad today. He said terrorism represents a threat to the security of his country and that his government is committed to its policy towards combating terrorism. He said Pakistan is able to protect the sovereignty and unity of its territories. He added that his government will spare no effort for creating appropriate climate for a smooth transition of power in his country. On his part, Wang Yi said his country will continue support for Pakistan, expressing hope of enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.
