A Vietnam Airlines flight bound for Hanoi was delayed for four hours at Danang Airport after several scorpions were found on the plane, DPA QUOTED an official as saying Wednesday. The A321 aircraft, with 165 passengers on board, was about to taxi onto the runway Tuesday evening when a crew member spotted two scorpions near a passenger's seat. The plane's captain decided to delay the flight to check for more of the poisonous animals, according to Huynh Thi Thuong Van, an official with Vietnam Airlines' office in Danang. Passengers were ordered to disembark for a four-hour inspection, which detected three more scorpions on board. The plane finally took off at 9 pm Tuesday after all the arachnids had been removed. "We don't yet know yet how the scorpions got on the plane. We are coordinating with relevant agencies to investigate the incident," said Van. In April, a Vietnam Airlines flight to Tokyo was delayed after a passenger told airport officials his white mouse had gone missing en route from Danang to Hanoi. The mouse was found in a food compartment in the Boeing 777's galley, and was destroyed a day later when its owner did not return to claim it.
