Saudi embassies and consulates have granted visas to 1,575,214 pilgrims until the end of time of granting visas on Wednesday, December 5, 2007. The Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry for Consular Affairs Ambassador Ibrahim bin Omar Al-Kharashi pointed out that Indonesian pilgrims topped the list with 214,886 pilgrims and the Argentine pilgrims ranked last with only 15 pilgrims. He noted that the current season has witnessed a remarkable increase in Chinese pilgrims whose number exceeded 10,000 pilgrims for the first time.
