Prince Miqren bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Madinah Region was assured of intensive preparations approved by governmental bodies in Madinah at the start of the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan. Madinah has witnessed a large increase in visitors to the Prophet's Mosque from the Kingdom and abroad. In statements to the Saudi Press Agency, a number of directors of governmental departments said that Prince Miqren urged them to exert utmost efforts to provide best services to citizens, visitors of the Mosque and Umrah performers. On the other hand, the Undersecretary of Riyadh-based Foreign Ministry for Consular Affairs Ambassador Ibrahim bin Omar Al-Kharashi said that 2,611,260 visas have been granted to Umrah performers from Safar 1 to the end of Ramadan, an increase of 16 percent in comparison with the last year.
