Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr Hashim Yamani has hailed the order of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to extend subsidy amounting to SR 1000 for each ton of rice and to increase the subsidy of the baby milk from Two riyals to 12 riyals for each kilogram. In a statement to The Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he said the Royal order embodies the keenness of the Saudi leadership on ensuring the welfare of the citizens. He noted that the support of these two commodities comes in line with the continuous increase of the cost of their import, and to ease the impact of this increase on the citizens. Dr Yamani said the Royal directives included assigning a ministerial committee to set the required restrictions in this respect, and to follow up the implementation of this Royal order.
