The ministry of higher education has started to implement projects of building for the new universities in North of the Kingdom at a total cost of about sr2.62 billion. Projects of the university buildings will be implemented in Hail, Joaf, Tabuk and the Northern Borders. The Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz during his visit to the Northern region laid the foundation stone for the Joaf university. The first phase of the project, which will be implemented at a total cost of about SR 1 billion. The project of the first phase includes the faculties of engineering, applied medical sciences, computer as well as other utilities. The first phase of the project of the university of the Northern Borders will be implemented in Arar and Raf'ha at a total cost of sr 500 million. In Tabuk the ministry of higher education has started to implement the project of Tabuk university at a total cost of about sr 475 million. The project includes the faculties of medicine, sciences, medical sciences as well as other utilities. In Hail the ministry of higher education has started to implement the first phase of the project of Hail university at a total cost of sr 645 million on an area of 9,041,025 square meter. The project includes the faculties of sciences, engineering, computer engineering as well as other utilities. These projects are implemented in line with plans that aim at the expansion of higher education throughout the Kingdom with specializations that take into account the requirements of the labor market.
