Jordan's king swears in new cabinet

Jordan's King Abdullah II on Sunday swore in a new cabinet of technocrats that included a
record four women ministers.
The 28-member cabinet is headed by Nader al-Dahabi, who
was designated prime minister on Thursday.
The new cabinet, the sixth since Abdullah ascended to the
throne in 1999, took the oath of office in a brief ceremony
at one of Amman's many hilltop royal palaces.
Al-Dahabi, 61, is a former transportation minister and
deputy commander of the air force for logistics who also
once headed the flagship national carrier Royal Jordanian.
In addition to the premiership, he also took on the defense
portfolio, the Associated Press reported.
