Pakistan has dispatched two C-130 aircraft carrying relief and edible goods to the affectees of cyclone in Bangladesh, said an official statement. It added that the people and Government of Pakistan are deeply concerned for their brethren in Bangladesh, who are faced with an enormous calamity of cyclone (sidr) leaving thousands dead and millions homeless. The aircraft are carrying 300 tents, two tons of rice, four tons of baby food and three tons medicine. A ship is leaving soon for Dhaka with 10000 tons rice, 2000 tons cooking oil, 2000 tons of pulses along with 100,000 plastic mats. A 30 bed Mobile Field Hospital will start functioning after arriving in Dhaka on November 23 and 24 through four C-130s. National Disastrous Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Lt-Gen Farooq Ahmed Khan said NDMA was in touch with Bangladeshi authorities to coordinate the operation.
