The Secretary General of the Eastern region's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Adnan bin Abdullah Al-Naim has highlighted the importance of the eastern region as an international complex for the petrochemical industries. Speaking at a meeting with the businessmen in the eastern region and a German economic delegation, Al-Naim said the Saudi government, in the light of the success attained at the first industrial city in Jubail, is currently building and developing a second similar industrial city which is expected to attract investments in the field of petrochemical industries, estimated to be at about SR 190 billion from the private sector. Al-Naim noted that the first industrial city of Jubail includes about 184 factories including 19 factories in the basic industries; 21 factories in secondary industries; and 144 factories in the light industries and industrial services in addition to 53 factories under construction. --MORE
