The industrial cities have expanded and the number of factories in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reached at the end of the third quarter of 1432 H. to 4,952 operational factories that are part of the Kingdom's economic and industrial boom. Statistics estimated the total capital invested in these plants until the end of the third quarter of 1432 H. to be about SR 509 billion riyals while the total number of employees reached more than 617,000. This development in the industrial sector of the Kingdom is due to care extended by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz to this vital sector. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud paid three visits to the industrial city of Jubail since taking office in 1426 H. where he founded and opened giant projects doubling the size of investments in the industrial cities of Jubail and Yanbu to SR 676 billion while the total number of industrial complexes in it reached 42 major industrial complexes as well as more than 400 medium and light industries. The volume of production exceeded 106 million tons annually. The volume of production is also projected to increase further after the completion of the remaining stages in the two giant projects (Jubail 2) and (Yanbu 2). --MORE
