The Saudi newspapers of today highlighted the Saudi-Egyptian summit and said the summit had dealt with the Arab, regional and international developments in an atmosphere of frankness. The newspapers pointed out that the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah had briefed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on the outcome of his European tour. Cairo-based al-Akhbar said the Kingdom has been adopting a realistic and open policy which matches the continuous changes and developments in the third millenary. The paper said the visit of King Abdullah to the Vatican and his meeting with the Pope were greatly highlighted in the Christian world, and added that the visit of the Saudi Monarch to the Vatican will positively contribute to narrowing the gap between the Muslim and Christian worlds. -more
