King starts Monday visit to Italy

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz will start tomorrow an official visit to Italy.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Italy are linked with "close and distinguished" relations which dates back to 1932.
Italy opened its consulate in Jeddah in 1932, and signed a cooperation agreement with the Kingdom in 1933.
The late King Faisal bin Abdul-aziz visited Italy when he was the foreign minister in 1931 and met with the then Italian King. He also visited Italy in 1973.
Within the framework of exchange of visits by Saudi and Italian leaders, King Abdullah bin Abdul-aziz, when he was the Crown Prince, visited Italy in 1999.
He met the Italian President, Premier and Speaker of the Council of Deputies.
