Prince Dr. Khalid bin Abdullah Almshari Al Saud, Deputy Minister of Education, said that the Kingdom's winning of the membership of UNESCO's executive council underlined the international status of the kingdom and its good relations with the countries which voted for it in the secret ballot on Tuesday during the general conference of the organization. The Kingdom's nominee to the membership of UNESCO's executive council, Dr Saeed bin Mohammed Al-Mileis, the deputy education minister for boys education, has become a member of the UNESCO's executive council for a period of four years. The executive council comprises 58 members who are selected among the representatives of UNESCO's 193 member states. On his part, Dr. Al-Mileis said this achievement underscores the kingdom's status in the world and appreciation for Saudi leaders' efforts to promote international peace and security; spread culture and sciences in the world; and support dialogue among peoples.
