Energy specialists from the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council are slated to meet energy experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency in Riyadh on Wednesday to review a draft of a feasibility study conducted by the IAEA which was commissioned by the GCC on the peaceful usage of nuclear energy, particularly the fields of power generation and water desalination, in the GCC region. This came in remarks made by Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Atiyyah, Secretary General of GCC, upon arrival in Kuwait to take part in the First Meeting for Chiefs of National Security Authorities in the GCC member countries scheduled for Kuwait tomorrow. The study is also scheduled to be discussed by the forthcoming GCC summit in Doha next December in accordance with recommendations of the previous summit meeting held in Riyadh last year.
