Thirteen people died in a building collapse in Coimbatore town in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, news reports said Saturday, according to DPA. Three women and a 9-year-old boy were among those killed when the three-storeyed residential building with about two dozen apartments collapsed on Friday night after heavy rains, PTI news agency reported. The building was at least 30 years old. Twelve bodies were recovered from the debris within hours of the collapse on Friday night and another body was recovered on Saturday, the police said. Another 14 residents, who were injured in the collapse, were being treated in various hospitals in Coimbatore, which lies about 600 kilometres south-west of Tamil Nadu capital Chennai. Local authorities are inspecting other buildings in the housing colony built by the city's Slum Clearance Board and residents will be evacuated if required, police said
