The remains of all 18 people who perished in an October 8 plane crash have been recovered from the wreckage in an mountainous region of central Colombia, authorities said Sunday according to DPA. The civilian plane disappeared from radar screens with 15 Colombian soldiers and three crew members on board over the province of Cordillera Oriental, on a domestic flight from Villavicencio bound for La Uribe. The wreckage was spotted Thursday on a mountain after a three-day search that included two helicopters and two Colombian Air Force fixed-wing aircraft. There were no initial signs of survivors, which was confirmed Saturday when a recovery party reached the inaccessible crash site in a remote area. Poor visibility was reported as a possible factor in the crash of the Czech-made LET-410, a two-engine propeller aircraft.
