Three Palestinian refugees suffered burns, 13 others suffered breathing difficulties and six were otherwise injured when fire broke out in their camp in the no-man's land between Syria and Iraq Saturday afternoon, Palestinian sources at the camp said according to DPA. The fire, which broke out at 4.30 pm, consumed some "30 tents of the 100-tent camp with their contents" the sources told Deutsche Presse- Agentur dpa by telephone, adding that a Syrian Red Crescent doctor was treating the injured. The cause of the fire was not immediately known. The refugees put out the fire using water and small fire extinguishers, the sources added. The burned tents were home to some 11 families with some 41 people, the source said. The camp some 276 kilometres north-east of the Syrian capital Damascus is home to 341 Iraqi-Palestinians who fled their homes in Iraq due to violence and threats from Iraqis after the removal of former president Saddam Hussein.
