The death toll in the detonation of two car bombs near a Baghdad market has risen to 32, news reports said Thursday, according to dpa. Witnesses initially spoke of six dead in the blasts that occurred a few minutes after sundown and the breaking of the daily fast during the holy month of Ramadan. The bombings in the predominately Shiite neighbourhood of al-Bayaa in southern Baghdad also wounded 28 people, police said. The increased number of deaths brought Wednesday's death toll in terrorist attacks and fighting in Iraq to more than 65.
