A car bomb killed at least 25 people in a small town northeast of Baghdad on Saturday, Reuters reported. Police and the interior ministry said at least 25 people were killed and 40 wounded in the blast in the town of Howaider, north of the provincial capital Baquba which is 65 km (40 miles) northeast of Baghdad. Police sources said the bomb was in a pick-up truck which exploded on the small town's main street where the mosque, the market and a coffee shop are located. The blast hit around sundown when people would have been breaking the Ramadan fast.
