Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the interior minister, chaired here last night the meeting of the higher commission for Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz international prize for sunnah (the Prophet's) teaching and the contemporary Islamic studies. He was welcomed by Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the assistant interior minister for security affairs, other princes and senior officials. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Saed al-Harethi, the prize's secretary general, shed light on the activities of the prize's secretariat general. Later Prince Naif announced the names of the winners. The winner of the branch of the contemporary Islamic studies was Dr Mohammed Hassanein Hassan. The second prize was co-shared by Dr Mohammed Yusri Ibrahim and Dr Abdulrahman bin Mohammed al-Dakheel. The function was attended by Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, other princes and senior officials.
