Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the assistant minister of defense and aviation for military affairs, patronized here last night a ceremony of Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz international prize for water. On arrival at the ceremony venue, Prince Khalid Bin Sultan was welcomed by minister of water and electricity Eng Abdullah al-Hussein and rector of King Saud university Dr Abdulrahman al-Othman. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Abdul Malik al-al-Sheikh, the secretary general of the prize, said the prize aims at encouraging researches in the field of water. He noted that the prize is awarded every two years and the winners are selected by a group of distinguished scientists. Speaking to press men, Prince Khalid said the Middle East is one of the regions in the world facing the problem of water scarcity.
