Talks between official delegations of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan ended in Dushanbe on Thursday with the signing of a package of documents on economic and humanitarian cooperation, Itar-Tass reported . Among the signed documents are agreements between the governments of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan on air communication and on cooperation in the field of culture and art, a memorandum on mutual understanding and cooperation in the field of investments and trade between the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Tajik State Property Department and a joint statement of Presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev and Emomali Rakhmon. The statement stresses, in particular, that "the sides note with satisfaction positive dynamics in the development of mutually advantageous trade and economic ties, confirm their interest in developing comprehensive cooperation, as well as the presence of a huge unused potential of this cooperation." The heads of state entrusted their governments with developing a plan of actions in economic cooperation for 2008-2010. The sides also welcomed the creation of Kazakh-Tajik investment fund with authorized capital of 100 million dollars.
