An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale shook south-western Colombia on Sunday, though no victims or damage were reported immediately. The Colombian Institute of Geology and Mining (Ingeominas) said that the quake's epicenter was 56.1 kilometers north-east of the town of El Charco in the southern Colombian province of Narino on the border with Ecuador. The head of Colombia's Office for the Prevention of Disasters, Luz Amanda Pulido, said that the earthquake was also felt in the central province of Caldas and in the south-western Valle del Cauca and Cauca.
