A guide and supply ship of the French Navy, NS-VAR, arrived at Soekarno-Hatta seaport, here on Friday for a good-will visit, Antara reported. The 220-long-meter ship headed by Commander Axel Moracchini carried 200 crew members on board as well as Admiral Jacques Launay, French Naval commander for Indian Ocean. The French Ship left France for Jakarta via Malaysia and Makassar, where the ship will stay until September 11, 2007. Indonesia's Deputy Commander of the Forth Naval Fleet Col. Uus Kustiwa greeted the arrival of the French ship. During their stay in Makassar, the French Naval officers were scheduled to meet the South Sulawesi Governor, Amin Syam, and organize a number of sports activities with their Indonesian counterparts.
