The Indonesian training warship KRI Dewa Ruci arrived at the Jeddah seaport on April 24th on a goodwill mission. The ship was welcomed by Zakaria Ansar the Indonesian Consul General, Ahmad Riad, the Defense Attaché Cavalry Colonel, Indonesian Consulate General officials and Indonesian students at a party on board. “I would like to extend my sincere appreciation and admiration to the Saudi Government, especially the Saudi Navy, Jeddah Port Authority and the Maritime border forces for the excellent bilateral relations which have existed for years between the two countries - and for their kind assistance in realizing this evening's gathering,” said Ansar. He said the two countries are going to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties on May 1 this year and hoped for continued cooperation, particularly in the military field. During their visit to Jeddah the commanding officers and the crews made courtesy calls to the Saudi Western Fleet Commander, several Saudi high ranking officials, performed Umrah, visited Madinah and toured Jeddah. The naval warship departed from Jeddah on Thursday and headed for Port Said in Egypt.
