Under the patronage of Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, the president of AGFUND, Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, the special representative of Prince Talal, attended the party held in honor of Professor Mohammed Yunis, the member of the committee of AGFUND's international prize, on the occasion of awarding him Nobel Peace Prize. Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, in his speech delivered on his behalf by Prince Turki bin Talal, hailed the development efforts led by the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. 'In a transparent manner, King Abdullah has been tackling the problem of poverty', he said. He noted that the statement of King Abdullah in which he confessed the existence of poverty, was an important development ', he said. Prince Talal expressed appreciation for the contribution of the Kingdom with $ 250 million to the budget of AGFUND. Prince Talal noted that Professor Mohammed Yunis has been positively contributing to the ongoing efforts for enhancing the pillars of social security and serving the poor people. 'Poverty is one of the challenges facing the developed and developing societies', he added. He highlighted the role being played by AGFUND to contain the menace of poverty. Later Prince Turki bin Talal decorated Professor Mohammed Yunis AGFUND'S development medal.. On his part, Professor Mohammed Yunis expressed appreciation for the warm welcome given to him by the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. The function was attended by Dr Ahmad Mohammed Ali, the president of the Islamic Development Fund (IDB), a number of ministers and ambassadors as well as representatives of the regional and international organizations and the civil society.
