The Muslim World League (MWL) described today the recent caricature drawn by Swedish Artist Lars Vilks and published in "Nerikes Allahanda" newspaper as derogatory to the Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him) and a provocative work, which marred the last of the divine Prophet and the Muslim World. "Moreover, this work is also trying to harm the relations between peoples and it is hampering efforts to reach an understanding and forge cooperation between followers of religions, different civilizations and cultures." This came in a statement issued here today by the League's General Secretariat in which Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulmuhsin Al-turki, the MWL's Secretary General, who is also the President of the International Program to Introduce the Prophet of Mercy (SAAW), condemned strongly the 'vindictive' caricature published in the Swedish newspaper. He said that Islamic centers and bodies of the MWL had expressed their deep pain and extreme displeasure over the publication of this obscenity, which illustrated the envy of the caricature drawer and also the paper, with no regard to Islam and Muslims who account for almost one and a half billion people. "Nevertheless, this caricature will not only harm Islam but all divine messages and all apostles, whom Muslims believe in all of them." --MORE
