Saudi Arabia will participate in the 80th regular session of The Arab Economic and Social Council which will be held at Arab League headquarters in Cairo tomorrow. Minister of Finance Ibrahim Al-Assaf will lead the Saudi delegation. The meeting will focus on issues to be placed on the agenda for the upcoming economic and social development summit including a report prepared by the General Secretariat of the Arab League to follow up the implementation of the greater Arab free trade zone and investigation of the encountered obstacles impacted negatively on the pan-Arab trade. Prominent among these obstacles are constraints of non-tariff barriers, rules of origin of details of Arab goods. The Council will also consider a plan to develop the general education, higher education and scientific research in the Arab world in addition to consideration of the Arab project to improve the quality of health utilities.
