UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon urged the Taliban on Tuesday to release "as soon as possible" the remaining 19 South Koreans kidnapped six weeks ago, DPA reported. Ban welcomed news that the Taliban has agreed to set free the group of South Korean workers following arduous negotiations that have involved South Korean officials as well as the Kabul government and other countries. "I am pleased to hear the news and welcome the South Korean-Taliban agreement to release the 19 remaining South Koreans," Ban told reporters at UN headquarters in New York. "At this time I urge that they be released as soon as possible."
